Individual Therapy
Therapy that makes room for the whole you.
You are not a collection of symptoms to be fixed, and therapy doesn’t have to be a neat, linear journey from problem to insight to miraculously sorted.
Life is messier than that. So is 'healing'.
I offer individual therapy that draws from evidence-based approaches including EMDR and Schema Therapy, woven together with somatic and Breathwork Therapies, nature-based approaches, expressive arts, and traditional and Indigenous wisdom.
My work is integrative and holistic — which essentially means I bring the whole toolbox, rather than trying to squeeze you into one particular therapy-shaped box.
We might work with thoughts, emotions, memories and relationships. We might also pay attention to what is happening in your body, your nervous system, your environment, your culture, your history and the world around you.
Because sometimes the body knows something long before the brain has caught up.
There is no one-size-fits-all therapy.
Our work together is collaborative and individualised. We’ll figure out what feels useful, what fits your life, and what actually works for you — rather than forcing you into a predetermined treatment plan.
There is space here for serious things, messy things, uncomfortable things — and for laughter, curiosity and the occasional “well, that explains a lot.”
We may explore trauma and how it lives in the body, patterns that keep showing up in relationships, the impact of our personal and social histories, identity, grief, connection, boundaries, self-compassion and the complicated business of becoming more fully yourself.
I see life as an intricate web: we are shaped by our relationships, communities, cultures, histories and environments. Growth rarely moves in a straight line. It loops, spirals, stalls, surprises us and occasionally takes a completely unexpected detour.
And that is not failure.
That is the work.
Therapy can be a place to imagine something different.
Our work may invite more space for rest, breath, movement, play, creativity, nature and imagination.
Together, we might explore radical acceptance and compassion, resilience and connection, your relationship with your body, your relationship with others, and the things you want to grow more of in your life.
Because what we give our energy to tends to expand.
And you get to decide what deserves your energy.

Nature-based therapy
Sometimes the most helpful support is outside my particular scope. When that happens, I may recommend working alongside another trusted practitioner — such as a massage therapist, naturopath, osteopath or other allied health professional.
Therapy does not have to happen in isolation. We are interconnected beings, after all.
Therapy Options
Therapy, wherever you are.
Therapy doesn’t have to mean sitting in a waiting room, battling traffic or rearranging your entire day to get across town.
I currently offer all therapy sessions via Telehealth, giving you the flexibility to access support from wherever feels most comfortable for you.
Sessions are available Australia-wide via secure video conferencing or phone, depending on your preferences and what works best for you.
You might be curled up on the couch, sitting in your garden, hiding from the world under a weighted blanket — wherever you feel safe enough and able to show up as yourself.
Because sometimes being at home is exactly what makes therapy more accessible.
Funding & Rebates
Medicare
You may be eligible for a Medicare rebate through the Better Access to Mental Health Care initiative.
To access Medicare rebates, you will generally need to see your GP to discuss your mental health needs and obtain an appropriate referral and Mental Health Treatment Plan.
If you are eligible, you pay the full private fee and I process the Medicare rebate after your appointment. The current Medicare rebate for a standard 50-minute psychology consultation is $101.50, which is paid directly to your linked Medicare account.
Rebates generally arrive within 24–48 hours once processed.
NDIS
I accept Self Managed and Plan Managed NDIS participants.
After your initial session, we can create a Service Level Agreement outlining your therapy goals and the frequency of sessions, in a way that aligns with your NDIS plan.
For Self Managed participants, I provide an invoice after each session so you can make your claim with the NDIS.
For Plan Managed participants, invoices can be sent directly to your Plan Manager for payment.
Private Health Insurance
You may also be able to claim psychology appointments through your private health insurance, depending on your level of cover.
You pay the full private fee at the time of your appointment and I provide a paid invoice that you can submit to your health fund.
The amount you can claim depends on your individual policy.
Private Clients
You are also very welcome to access therapy privately without Medicare, NDIS or private health insurance funding.

How to Book
Ready to see whether we might be a good fit?
You can send an enquiry or email info@casuarinaholisticpsychology.com.au.
I’ll send you the information you need and we can continue via email, or arrange a brief phone call if you have questions before booking.
Once your appointment is booked, I’ll send through intake and consent forms to complete before our first session.
An initial appointment is secured with pre-payment 24 hours before the appointment. For ongoing appointments, payment is due on the day of your session.
Cancellation Policy
Your appointment is reserved for you.
When an appointment is booked, that time is set aside specifically for you and cannot usually be offered to someone else at short notice.
I understand that plans can change and unexpected things happen. At the same time, maintaining a clear cancellation policy allows me to protect appointment availability, manage the practice sustainably and offer timely appointments to other clients.
If you need to cancel or reschedule, at least 48 hours’ notice is required.
The following cancellation fees apply:
-
48–24 hours’ notice: 75% of the current consultation fee
-
Less than 24 hours’ notice: 100% of the current consultation fee
These fees apply to cancellations and rescheduling within the specified timeframes, including where unexpected circumstances arise.
Thank you for respecting the time we have set aside for your therapy.
EMDR Intensive Program
Sometimes, healing needs more than 50 minutes.
Trauma doesn’t always fit neatly into a weekly appointment. Sometimes you need time, space and fewer interruptions to really get into the work.
EMDR Intensives offer a focused, immersive way to work with trauma and the beliefs, emotions and body responses that can keep the past very much in the present.
Rather than spreading the work across months of weekly sessions, an intensive gives us the opportunity to go deeper, stay with the work and create space for meaningful processing and integration.
This is not about rushing healing or forcing a breakthrough. It’s about stepping out of everyday life for a moment and giving your nervous system, body and mind some dedicated room to do their thing.
The goal?
To loosen the grip of the past so you can have more room for what comes next.
EMDR Intensives are available in one-day, two-day or three-day formats, with additional somatic and Breathwork Assisted Therapy woven into the program.
If you’re curious whether an EMDR Intensive might be right for you, get in touch and we can explore it together.

Breathwork Assisted Therapy
What if you don’t have to talk your way through everything?
Sometimes words help. Sometimes you’ve already talked about it a lot.
Breathwork Assisted Therapy offers another way to explore your inner world — through breath, body, sensation, movement and emotion.
I am a certified Inspire Breathwork practitioner, offering this somatic approach to support self-awareness, grounding and deeper connection between mind, body, spirit and the world around us.
Breathwork can be offered as a standalone therapy or integrated with psychological therapy, depending on what feels right for you.
No forcing, no performing, no chasing the perfect breakthrough. Just space to slow down, breathe, notice and explore.
A little less fixing. A little more feeling.
Breathwork Assisted Therapy
I am passionate about delivering a tailored suport to my clients' unique needs and I understand that at times and for some of us more traditionally understood 'talk therapy' does not fit or feel right. That is why I offer Breathwork Therapy that you can use as an alternative or we can integrate sessions in both modalities when creating a plan and a map of how to address your needs and desires for therapy.
I offer Breathwork Therapy sessions, both 1 on 1 and in a group setting, in person or online via Zoom. It is a simple, safe yet powerful practice that allows for self-exploration, self-awareness and grounding. It is a branch of Somatic Therapies that focus on mind-body-spirit-earth connection.
Group Workshops
We are not meant to do it all alone.
I’m passionate about collective healing and the ways genuine connection and community can support our health and wellbeing.
I offer experiential and knowledge-based group workshops that create space to slow down, explore, learn and connect — with yourself and with others.
These workshops might invite you to explore your inner landscape, your longings, values and sense of purpose. They might also be a place to share stories, yarn, play, laugh, ask questions and spend time with people who are navigating some of the same messy, beautiful and complicated parts of being human.
I’m interested in creating spaces where we can learn from one another, feel a little less alone and remember that healing doesn't always have to be an individual pursuit.
Sometimes we need reflection.
Sometimes we need movement.
Sometimes we need a good conversation.
And sometimes we just need to sit around with other humans and have a yarn.
Come as you are.
Keep an eye out for upcoming workshops, or get in touch if you have a group you’d like me to facilitate a workshop for.
And if there’s something you’d love to explore, tell me what you’re curious about. I’d love to hear what kinds of workshops and spaces you’d like to see.
Where
Workshop locations vary across Newcastle, Port Stephens and Maitland.
Private group workshops can also be facilitated at your location.
